The Fortune 500 energy company Entergy is expanding its office space in The Woodlands.

The Howard Hughes Corporation announced that it is leasing over 100,000 square feet at Hughes Landing, the 79-acre, walkable mixed-use urban center on Lake Woodlands, according to a press release

"Since the founding of The Woodlands, Entergy has been committed to making investments to help this community thrive," Sallie Rainer, president and CEO of Entergy Texas said in a statement. "We are excited to expand our footprint at the Lake Front North building, and continue our role as a major employer across The Woodlands, and Montgomery County. This move will help us continue to create a collaborative and flexible environment to help us better serve our customers."

Entergy’s 53,604-square-foot expansion is designed to meet the company’s growing needs and provide a central home of operations for its more than 650 employees in The Woodlands, according to the release.

The company will occupy 107,614 square feet of office within the Lake Front North campus in Hughes Landing, the statement added.

"We are fortunate to have Entergy as a member of business community in The Woodlands," Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for The Howard Hughes Corporation said in the release. "The strong momentum of our leasing activity continues to reflect the growing appeal of The Woodlands as an ideal community for corporations looking to grow their business and provide employees with an outstanding quality of life."

The release said that Lake Front North provides walkable access to all the urban amenities in Hughes Landing including entertainment, retail, Restaurant Row, an Embassy Suites by Hilton, an outdoor fitness park and access to recreation on the 200-acre Lake Woodlands.

Out of the nearly 13-acre Lake Front North, about 4.2 acres of it is designated for future development opportunity, the release said.
