Kittle Property Group recently celebrated the grand opening of the Laurel Vista Apartments, making the complex its newest affordable housing development in the Beaumont area.
Located at 3400 Veterans Cir., the complex, open to residents 55 and over, joins Old Dowlen Cottages and Cypress Place as the company’s third across the area, with this one being centered on affordable housing.
"Hurricane Harvey and the pandemic have shown us that affordable housing is more critical to the stability of our communities than ever," a Kittle Property Group representative said in a statement. "We are proud to continue serving the residents of Beaumont."
The dwelling features 69 newly constructed apartment homes, including one- and two-bedroom units ranging up to 1,554 square feet. In all, a total of 60 apartments are available at income-based rates, with nine available at full market rates.
Amenities include an on-site fitness center, business center, picnic pavilion, community room and dog park.
With applications still being accepted, Kittle Property Group was awarded $10 million in tax credits from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) to help complete construction.
In business since 1948, Kittle Property Group is regarded as a national leader in “bringing together community, financial and government partners with innovative plans to develop, construct and manage quality, affordable and market-rate multi-family apartment homes that serve as a catalyst to local economies by sustaining families, neighborhoods and businesses.”
The Indianapolis-based company owns and operates upwards of 18,000 apartment homes, housing more than 30,000 family members in 19 states.
