Texas is a triple threat in Texas and has made Money Magazine's 50 "Best Places to Live" list.

Since 1987, Money Magazine selects its 'Best Places to Live' in the United State; cities and towns with populations ranging from 25,000 up to 500,000 are considered annually.

Money Magazine uses nearly 100 different metrics and is organized into the following nine categories: Cost of Living, Economic Opportunity, Diversity, Education, Fun (aka amenities), Health and Safety, Housing Market, Income and Personal Finances, and Quality of Life. Extra weight is given to the cost of living, economic opportunity and housing affordability. Winners are limited to three per state and one per county, and past winners are not considered.

The Texas locations that made the 2021 and 2022 lists are Flower Mound (#4), Frisco (#19) and Round Rock (#25). The number one-ranked city is Chanhassen, Minnesota, according to DFW CBS Local.

Mallika Mitra of Money Magazine stated, “Locals say Flower Mound still has a small-town feel, but it’s growing quickly. The city saw the highest job growth of any place on our list over the last five years", DFW CBS Local reported.

According to the magazine's Amy Yale, she wrote that Frisco's professional job opportunities between 2015 and 2020 increased by 21% and are projected to rise another 19% by 2025.

Julia Glum, another Money writer, wrote about the Round population of 125,000 that will only get larger, as it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. Additionally, Round Rock has low property taxes and tax breaks for businesses, reported DFW CBS Local.
