"It is not as complicated as you think. There are a couple of steps that you need to follow, and then it should be pretty simple," says Dean. 

Dean Lindo is a graduate of Clemson University's Mechanical Engineering program. He is currently the vice president at Dodec Inc., a general and mechanical contracting firm in south Florida. Using his years of experience and knowledge, Dean has started a YouTube channel dedicated to helping the average person sharpen their DIY skills and tackle various home projects. His goal is to show the avid DIYer and the average homeowner that by doing some of these projects on your own, you have the ability to save yourself some money.

Start by deciding where you want to install the outlet, Dean said. Then you can use a magnetic stud finder to locate the studs of the socket on the other side of the wall. After that, remove the wall plate of the outlet and run a cable from there to the new box that you are going to install on the other side of the wall. Lastly, you need to wire the new outlet and connect it to a power source. Once you are done, you can push all the wires back into the box and put your socket back into the wall, and you are done.
