Each year for the past eight years, Livability has published a data-driven list of the best places to live in America. This year, Plano has taken the number 17 spot on that list. While that's impressive, it's not the headline that Plano residents will be most pleased to hear. This year, Plano came in as the best place to live in the entire state of Texas.
With a modest population of 302,806, Plano is recognized by Livability to have everything that you might need in one city. Whether it be shopping, culture, concerts or nature, Plano is reported to have an abundance of experiences.
According to Livability, Plano provides a great blend between city and nature. Their rankings said, "Nature lovers can enjoy more than 4,000 acres of parks, while foodies can choose from more than a thousand dining options."
The city of Plano celebrated the ranking with a Facebook post, saying, "Livability ranks City of Plano #1 in Texas (#17 nationwide) in the Top 100 Best Places to Live in 2021. #LovePlano"
The comments of the post were filled with support for the city, citing its many amenities and community feel. The list was topped by Madison, Wis., Ann Arbor, Mi., and Overland Park, Kan., at the one, two, and three spots, respectively.
