Work has begun on the 636J-sf distribution project located west of downtown Dallas. The project is the Turnpike North Logistics Center, which is a two-building industrial project that is slated to be built on Singleton Blvd. at Weir St.

The DFW Real Estate Investors posted on Facebook: “Construction has kicked off on a new business park west of downtown Dallas.”

The building is a 636,000-square-foot distribution complex that is being funded by a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Ares Management Corp.

Dustin Collins, vice president in Ares Real Estate Group, said in a statement, “We have been an active developer in the Dallas market for some time, completing 570,000 square feet of industrial projects over the last year, and are thrilled to be breaking ground on Turnpike North Logistics Center. We believe this project is a great opportunity to deliver quality infill product in a constrained area.”

The parcel of land and buildings totals 36 acres and was purchased a year ago by Black Creek Group. In July of this year, the land was purchased by Ares Management, which has completed several projects in Texas totaling a value of more than $1 billion.

Completion for the project is slated to be completed in late 2022.
