Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed Darlene Fairchild to the Texas Real Estate Broker Lawyer Committee on Nov. 16.

Fairchild’s term in office is set to expire on August 31, 2027.

"She has spent over 30 years in the title industry and is a lifetime member of the Texas Land Title Association and member of the Texas Land Title Association Regulatory Committee," Governor Abbott said in a statement.

The Texas Real Estate Broker Lawyer Committee is responsible for drafting and revising all contracts promulgated by the Texas Real Estate Commission. She will have personal responsibility for this in the job, according to a report from connectcre.com. Fairchild also serves as an agency underwriter for University Title Company.

Fairchild's current job description with Universal Title Company is maneuvering through curative issues, working in concert with underwriting attorneys and coming to the aid of the closing services department with curative and title questions, according to a release. The press release also states that Fairchild is from the Bryan-College Station area here in Texas, giving her a local connection to the job she will be performing and to the real estate communities she will be serving in this government role in Texas.
