Houston is rapidly growing in part because it is "a big city with a hometown feel," Realtor Alex Stroud told Texas Realty News.
“Houston is that its more than just a city, it’s a lifestyle,” he said.
“As Houston expands all communities and surrounding cities are benefitting. Cities as far out as Rosenberg and Richmond, Katy all the way out to Sealy, The Woodlands and Conroe, New Caney (up the 59 Corridor) and Baytown, even as far out as Crosby, Mont Belvieu and Beach City, or Alvin and Danbury are all included. Each area has its own amazing attributes, and they only add to Houston.”
One hot spot right now is a hot spot is Alvin, said Stroud of All City Real Estate, Ltd.
“The hometown feel that this remarkable city offers is enhanced by its proximity I-35,” he said.
“I-35 intersects the Beltway on its southern side and I-45 on its northern end, so you’ve got a shortcut right there.”
The Richmond and Rosenberg areas have also been expanding, due in part to the Grand Parkway expansion of I-59 down to Victoria and I-95.
“In case you haven’t heard, Houston is just expanding by leaps and bounds,” said Stroud.
He describes the current real estate market as “a frenzy” and advises would-be buyers to be patient.
“Take your time!” he said. “Explore Houston and take the time to find the Realtor that will work with you. With the market the way it has been, interviewing a realtor is just as important as interviewing a lender or home inspector.”
It’s important for a Realtor to take the time to get to know clients to understand the type of home they want, said Stroud.
“I don’t share a single property unless I know that it fits their needs, and I won’t know if it fits their needs unless I listen to them, understand their needs, and make sure everything I know has been given to my clients for every property they like,” he said.
“Yes, it takes time, and it’s a bit arduous at times; however, if I do it right, I’ll be welcoming them into their new home when other agents are still showing properties.”
