Apartment developer Mill Creek has broken ground on a new complex called Modera EaDo, according to a release.
It is located east of just east of Austin's "Second Downtown" – The Domain, the statement said.
"The area surrounding The Domain is transitioning from largely industrial properties to a more pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use environment consistent with the city of Austin's plan for the area, and we wholeheartedly buy into that vision," Bart Schaetter, managing director of development in Austin for Mill Creek Residential, said in a statement. "This pocket east of The Domain – which we are calling EaDo – will benefit from the success of The Domain proper similarly to how neighborhoods adjacent to vibrant downtowns in other metro areas benefit."
The new community at 11604 Stonehollow Dr. is set to open in the summer of 2023 and will have 377 apartments, the company said. It is close to companies such as IBM, Indeed, Amazon, Facebook and Charles Schwab, the release said.
"Modera EaDo will put residents within close proximity of essentially everything they might need, from nightlife options, craft breweries and Austin FC to the area's blue-chip tech employers," Schaetter said. "This proximity, coupled with the community's refined amenity package and contemporary home finishes, will result in a top-of-market living option for discerning renters. We're eager to welcome our first residents."
The new community will complex is within quarter mile of proposed MetroRail Red Line station, which will connect it community with Leander T and downtown Austin, the release said. It will also feature a co-working amenity space.
