This month, Leslie Doggett Industries, one of the largest family-owned businesses in the Houston area, is set to expand with the acquisition of more dealerships which total $120 million in annual sales. This will add to Doggett's revenues and push them closer to the $2 billion mark.

Doggett acquired dealerships for Freightliner, Western Star and Detroit Diesel from the Austin Freightliner Group. These dealerships were previously owned by the Jay Hendrix Family. The terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Paul Burk, executive vice president and general manager of the Doggett Truck Group commented on the acquisition, saying, "Bringing Austin Freightliner into the company culture that has led to all our success will be a win-win for our customers and our team of dedicated folks. Doggett has historically doubled the number of technicians after acquisitions providing best-in-class training, processes, benefits and compensation packages. We plan to dramatically grow Austin Freightliner the same way."

With the new acquisitions, Doggett has grown its dealership count to 40. In the past five years, Doggett has been increasing its influence as it acquires more dealerships. In April, it acquired Western Star, Autocar Trucks and Detroit Diesel locations in San Antonio and surrounding areas. It purchased Truck Centers of Arkansas in May 2018 and in 2019, it acquired Truck Enterprises, Inc.
