Construction has begun on a new cold storage facility in San Antonio by Dallas-Fort Worth developer Cold Creek Solutions, which is the second of its kind by CCS and will be one of the largest facilities in the area.

According to a release by ARCO National Construction, a ground breaking ceremony took place on Jan. 13 for what will be a 300,500 square foot cold storage facility. It is located at the intersection of I-10 E and loop 410, which the company said puts the facility in a “prime position” to serve what is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. In this project, ARCO National Construction partnered with CCS to build the warehouse as well as be responsible for its design, build and construction needs. Stream Realty Partners is involved in the leasing of the building.

“The Cold Creek Solutions team is excited to bring our second project to the state of Texas and help meet the need for frozen and refrigerated infrastructure in San Antonio,” said Cold Creek Solutions President and Managing Partner, Matt McWilliams “The facility's strategic location will allow businesses to take advantage of the growing local market and will offer a high level of flexibility to meet their specific needs.”

The facility includes 294,500 square feet of temperature controlled space that can go as cold as -20 degrees to 55 degrees. There is also 6,000 square feet of office space and room for 45,000 pallets of frozen and refrigerated products. It also includes 48 dock positions, two drive in ramps and 48 feet of height. It allows for single and multi-tenant use.

Another project by CCS is located in Denton, with the 374,560 square foot building scheduled for an August 2022 completion. Cold Creek Solutions also said in the release that there are several other projects in the works that include “a mix of built-to-suit and market driven solutions” across the country.
