A tower condo is planned for the Tanglewood neighborhood in Houston.
The Tanglewood Corp. is constructing a $300 million, 33-story condominium tower in the Tanglewood neighborhood.
“33-story tower condo planned for Tanglewood,” Providence Group Realty said in a post to its official Twitter account on August 17.
The site is currently home to Tanglewood Corp.'s ranch-style office building, which opened in 1949. The company will have an office within the new tower, which will include three levels of underground parking. The proposed condo tower replaces a plan for a previous development announced for the site.
The previous project, a 20-story luxury tower with 230 units, was to be marketed to residents aged 62 and over. The new condo building is designed to be compatible with the neighborhood and will adhere to deed restrictions, which were written by Tanglewood Corp. According to the Texas Real Estate Research Center, units will generally range between 2,500 and 10,000 square feet with most units being more than 5,000 square feet.
A skyline pool deck, landscaped gardens and exercise, social and business rooms will be included in the development. The groundbreaking for the facility is planned for 2022. The facility was designed by Jackson & Ryan Architects.
